.NAME Domain Name Registrations

Established in 2001, the .NAME universal domain name extension is the only one meant for personal sites only. These domains can consist of personal or fictional names, aliases and/or other designations people are famous by. Initially, solely 3rd-level registrations were permitted, so if you wanted to buy john.doe.name, you would have to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were loosened and second-level registrations were also permitted. Already purchased 3rd-level names remained working.

Through our firm, you can buy your dot NAME domain for a period between 1 and 10 years. You will be able to alter the WHOIS contacts, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an existing domain to our firm if you obtain its EPP transfer authorization key from the current domain registrar and we will renew it as soon as the transfer has been finished. There are no special rules on who can reserve a .NAME domain, but in order to preserve the goal behind its establishment alive, the dot NAME Registry organization may check who the Registrant is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration can be challenged.

The .NAME top-level extension is one of the extensions that support internationalized domains, so we can also register a domain in any language at no added cost. In this way, your .NAME domain will be recognized in your country or region with the precise spelling in your local language.
